Deborah Morgan paints with acrylics on blocks of wood showing various local scenes. The paintings can be displayed on a shelf, wall or even on a door frame.
Deborah has been surrounded by art and photography her entire life. As a young adult, he grandmother taught her toleware. She then painted tins, trays and furniture. She did stenciling, created needlepoint designs, painted with acrylics on old trunks, stools, benches, wall plaques, etc. She made photo cards and calendars. She painted for many years as a hobby while teaching high school special education classes on the East Coast. Creating with different mediums has always been an interest of hers.
Deborah began painting local scenes and landscapes while living along the New Jersey coast in Sea Girt. Here she studied watercolor and acrylic with Jim Ferrier. She continued in this area after moving to Pawleys Island, South Carolina. She pursued her studies with Barnie Slice and Danny McLaughlin through Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Now retired and living in Astoria, Deborah has time to paint daily. She enjoys exploring the North Coast, looking for new ideas and landscapes for her paintings. As a lifelong learner, she enjoys walking with her dog getting inspiration for her creations.
