Karina is a woodblock printmaker, creating images mainly of landscapes, local scenes, and personal stories. She is fixated on trying to capture the ephemeral colors of sunrise and sunset along the coast. She prints both western style, using a press, and Japanese style Moku Hanga prints, but finds the meditative process of cutting the blocks even more rewarding than printing the final product. Most of her current work is done using multiple blocks and kento registration.
Karina occasionally exhibits her work around Astoria.
