Artist Bio
Lisa Ackerman has enjoyed inspired living in the Pacific Northwest for the last 15 plus years where she creates art and helps run an antique and collectibles shop in downtown Astoria called Old Things and Objects. The store show old and new art as well as an eclectic mixture of collectibles. Running this shop has become a big part of Lisa’s life. Prior to that she has shown at many local galleries, received her degree in 2D Art and lived in Southern Oregon, California and New York. Inspiration is strongest when traveling, hiking, and spending time around passionate people.
Artist Statement
I have been creating art for many years. I am mainly self taught and have had several muses and influences along the way. My paintings and other art give viewers an array of unexpected imagery, helping them to build a collective consciousness and to become more open to the world’s diversity and expression. I hope to promote an awareness and reverence for the earth and all that inhabits it, while also showing respect for the generations that preceded us. I aim to pay homage to the many benefits of meditation, yoga, being present in the moment, and striving to achieve the best possible balance in the world.
