MIKE TUELL

I like the challenge of shaping visual art as suggested by the world we can already see , each with our own eyes. Maybe as Rainer Rilke suggested, the world around us exists to give us a hold on the life that is evolving inside of us.

So, abstraction is a temptation I hope to indulge in, and it can be tragic, or funny!

Stage work may be one of the best arenas in so far as there is a team of collaborators who help augment or define all parts of a production. No single aspect of it can stay on a pedestal for very long, and any one artistic part is perceived within the context of the whole play. If I find opportunities to display work in the future, I hope I will get glimpses into the minds and hearts of those who see it. I expect to be surprised, also happy to learn more about them.
