I am intrigued and challenged with replicating imagery without the use of technology. The printing press is my copy machine, rollers add the color, stencils are made with just about any material you can imagine. From these stencils an image is formed. I present recognizable images always with in a dreamy landscape. This represents what I see every day in the world around me. Colors change throughout the day, shadows come and go. My prints will show you a snapshot from my memory of just another beautiful day.
I began studying printmaking at Clatsop Community College in 2004 with Royal Nebeker and many members of The North Coast Printmakers Collective. Having access to the printmakers studio and workshops with artists William Park, Stephen Hayes, Lillian Pitt, James Lavadour, Ben Rosenberg and Frank Janzen has giving me the opportunities to learn a variety of techniques from professional printmakers.
I have shown my work at White Bird Gallery, Cannon Beach Gallery, Forsythea and joined group exhibits at the CCC Art Gallery. In October 2015 I had an amazing opportunity to join 50 other artists at The Crow Shadow Institute of Arts Monothon, a three-day biennial fundraising event of artists creating prints in master printmaker Frank Janzen's studio. My experience of learning from a variety of artists inspired me to provide learning opportunities in the art of printmaking for children and adults. I teach art through The Cannon Beach Arts Association Summer Camp, Fire Mountain School and The Tamata School.
