Tyler attended the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, where he met two Astorians who convinced him to move to the city. He is responsible for the Boys of Astoria calendar and one of the creators of the Astoria Armory Skatepark. He works in photography, video production, music, sculpture, stop motion, and of course painting. The paintings are usually large, with awkward disproportionate characters and/or fictional landscapes. He is inspired by the work of Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss, and Norman Rockwell. The human figure and emotions are usually presented in his artwork, often exaggerated and sometimes ironic.
Tyler was selected for the AVA a-i-r program for May-July 2017.
